Himalayas
Bhutan, Sikkim, Darjeeling (Darjiling) Wonderland
Duration : 10
Days for both treks
In this tour we are covering three destinations "Secret Bhutan and Sikkim-Darjeeling Wonderland." Bhutan is
another country which is very closed to Indian State Sikkim and Darjeeling
(Region of West Bengal). Bhutan often reversed as the 'Land of the peaceful
Dragon' is still regarded as one of the last "Shangri-La" in the Himalayan
region because of its remoteness, it's spectacular mountain terrain, varied
flora and fauna and it's unique ancient Buddhist monasteries. It is relatively
unexplored pockets of Asia, which allows only limited number of discerning
travelers to enter the country with special travel visa permits. There are very
few places left in the world that evoke the kind of mystery as does the Kingdom
of Bhutan. Given its geographical isolation and its strictly controlled
tourism policy, people have often taken recourse to wild flights of fancy.
Trek I.
Paro-Lingshi-Thimpu -
Duration: 10 Days
The drive through Paro Valley from the
airport is all that Bhutan is about. It is a wide, open, undulating valley
stretching out in inviting green for miles. In the fascinating kingdom of
Bhutan, Paro is unique in beauty and in history. To the north, Mount Chomolhari
(mountain of the Goddess), reigns in white glory and the glacier waters from its
"five sisters" peaks plunge torrentially through deep gorges, finally converging
to form the Paro Chu river that nourishes lush rice fields and apple and peach
orchards of the Paro valley. The day could be spent relaxing in a hotel or
acclimatizing by going on a short hike to a dzong. You can go to Taksang or the
Tiger's Nest Monastery, located on the "Cliff Top" and built in the eighth
century.

Trek II.
The Wonderland Kangchenjunga Base Camp -
Duration - 10 Days
The main peak and its immediate
satellites take the form of a giant cross which straddles the borders of three
countries - Nepal, Tibet and the once independent kingdom but now Indian state
of Sikkim. By virtue of the massif’s almost total isolation from any other
mountain group, precise definition of its boundaries is quite unnecessary. Until
1849 Kangchenjunga was thought to be the world’s highest mountain, but today’s
accepted height of 8,586m ranks it third, after Everest and K2.For a hiking
enthusiast setting foot in the eastern Himalaya for the first time, it is but
natural to choose the "Kangchenjunga Base Camp Trek." Not taking this trek
is like missing out on the Taj while Sightseeing in Agra. It plods along,
faithful to the tempo of that era: the ninety kilometer journey takes eight
hours. After reaching Ghoom, the highest point on the trek, the train begins a
hurried descent to Darjeeling town.
