Trekking in Nepal
The kingdom of
Nepal is located between India in the south and China in the north at Latitude
26* 22" to 30* 27" and Longitude 80* 4 " to 88 * 12" east. Crowned by eight of
the world's 10 highest mountains, Nepal compresses lush tropics and summit of
Mt. Everest( Mt. Sagarmatha), the highest piece of the planet.
This is the kingdom known as the unique and cultural destination in the tourism
map of the world that combines the aesthetic and spritual excitement and
adventure.
Nepal is the place where the world of mighty mountains,wild rivers,dense jungles
,unique cultures & warm hearted people are discovered. This is the country where
Hinduism and Buddhism have co-existed down the ages. Kathmandu, our capital ,
has often been called a living mueseum having numerous antique shrines, temples
and several other palaces (Durbar Squares )with intricate woodcarving that are
every where are truely blessed by the only living goddess in the world "The
Kumari".

Kathmandu is the gateway to the
exciting Khumbu region from where the pinnacles of Everest, Lhotse, Annapurna,
Machapuchare, and Dhaulagiri have beckoned explorers. Once the haunt of
the flower children, the town is today trying desperately to maintain the old
image of a Shangri-La.
This
region is famous not only for its proximity to the world's highest mountain but
also for its Sherpa villages and monasteries with their culture virtually
unchanged through the centuries.SoluKumbu has received countless trekkers and
mountaineers from all over the world. Solukhumbu has developed to a stage where
many options are possible-from a full-scale expedition with tents and porters to
an independent trek using the local lodges.Sagarmatha National Park established
in 1976 covers much of the region. This fascinating land surrounded by high
mountains is a real paradise for mountaineers and trekkers. There is many option

Annapurna
Sanctuary
A trek considered by many to offer all aspects of
trekking in Nepal. Green forests, tremendous mountain scenery and a
mosaic of cultures not too mention a good work out ! 7300m. Altitude, The trail
leads northwards initially, crossing fields of paddy before dissecting the
Marshyangdi river gorge, it passes through various interesting villages on
route.
Annapurna (the Goddess of
Abundance) has beckoned explorers since the time Nepal opened its frontier in
1949. In fact, Annapurna was the first 26,248 ft / 8,000 m peak to be climed
when a french expidition led by Maurice Herzong reached the summit in 1950.
There are various approaches to the Annapurna Sanctuary Trek. Ours came
into prominence when former American President Jimmy Carter wanted to spend time
away from his busy schedule on a trip to Nepal.

Langtang - The Langtang valley is aptly called 'the valley
of glaciers. Here, mountains rise soaring towards the sky.
Mustang -
Mustang is from outside influence as well as to
protect the environment. This semi-autonomous, heavily Tibetan influenced region
was described by Tilman as "fascinatingly ugly country, the more fascinating.
Makalu Trek
-
Makalu is the 5th Highest mountain in the world and this is near by the top of
the world (Everest).This region is blessed with an incredible diversity of
natural beauty and culture.
Manaslu Trek -
This area with rich in natural and cultural heritage was opened for the trekkers
very recently. The trek beginning from Gorkha. "Gorkha" the ancient kingdom
of Shah Dynasty.
Dolpo Trek - Dolpo is the best-known of
Nepal's forbidden northern border regions. The 1989 announcement that the
government was opening the region to group treks caused a flurry of excitement.
Dhaulagiri Trek -
Dhaulagiri, whose name means White Mountain, is
the seventh highest mountain in the world. It is an enormous Himalayan massif,
located in north central Nepal.
Rara Lake -
Rara Lake (2980 m) lies in the remote Karnali region in the north-west of Nepal
and is centerpiece of Rara Lake National Park.
Rolwaling Valley Trek
- An alternative more sporting approach to the
Everest region is through the remote and mysterious Rolwaling Valley - described
in Tom Weir's book " East of Kathmandu" and also
visited by ( Sir ) Chris Bonington on an abortive expedition in search of the
legendary yeti.
