Kailash Mansarovar Yatra (Pilgrimage Travel)   

On this Holy Trekking "Kailash Mansarovar Yatra" (Journey) start from Kathmandu-via-Nyalama-Saga-Prayang-Darchen-Mount Kailash-Kailash-Mansarovar, Lake, Back to Kathmandu. Mount Kailash, which is believed to have been formed 30 million years ago when Himalayas were in their early stage of formation, is one of the most revered places in the Himalayas. Mt. Kailash, 6,740 m. is situated to the north of the Himalayan barrier, wholly within Tibet. It is the perfect mountain with awesome beauty, with 4 great faces.

Spread out on the Tibetan plateau beside Mount Kailash is the giant lake of shifting colours - Lake Mansarovar. Brahma, the creator, had a mind (‘Man’) for the creation of a lake (‘Sarovar’), hence its name. A pilgrimage to Mount Kailash and a bath in the Mansarovar is believed to bring about salvation (Moksha).

Places Covered :	T. Kailash - Mansarovar, Fly in Kathmandu - Lhasa and drive out from Zhangmu or Vise Versa

Day 01 : Arrive Kathmandu
Arrive Kathmandu, pick-up at the airport and transfer to Hotel .

Day 02 : Kathmandu
One half day sightseeing tour of Kathmandu.

Day 03 : Fly Kathmandu/Lhasa world No.1 "Plateau-Flight", also called "Qomolangma-Flight" right pass by the Everest peak in a "hand-reaching" distance, a very close look at the charms of the world's highest mountain

Day 04 : Visit world famous Potala Palace and Jorkhang Temple & Barkhor Street.
 

Day 05 :Visit Drepung Monastery-the biggest in Tibet (with original accommodation for 7700 monks) and Sera Monastery famous for it's unique debating practice almost available every afternoon.

Day 06 : Early morning drive 430km to Lhatse via new road through Xigatse and a quick visit to Tashilungpo Monastery where the world highest (33m) gold gilded statue of Future-Buddha Martriya located. O/n local guesthouse.

Day 07 : Drive 340km to Saga. O/n local guesthouse.

Day 08 : Drive 260Km to Paryang o/n. Guest House

Day 09 : Drive 265Km to Mansarovar stay at guesthouse in Hor near the northern shore of Mansarovar.

Day 10 : Start a morning pleasant drive around Lake Mansarovar (30km) reaching Chiu Gompa, en-route visit Qiugu Gompa (one of the ancient location where Hinduism's Pooja was practiced), after arrival of Chiu Gompa we will try a holy bath there, o/n guesthouse near Chiu Gompa.

Day 11 : Drive to Tarchen (Base Camp of Mt. Kailash) ready for the next 3 days trek around Mt. Kailash. o/n Guest House.

Day 12 : Trek about 22Km to Diraphuk, o/n camping

Day 13 : Trek about 20 Km to Zuthulphuk, o/n camping

Day 14 : Trek about only 6 km down to the point where our landcruisers will be waiting for us, drive to Tarchen (10km), after lunch continue drive 30 km to Hor, o/n local guesthouse.

Day 15 : Drive to Paryang

Day 16 : Drive to Saga

Day 17 : Drive to Nyalam

Day 18 : Drive to Friendship Bridge and meet our Nepal side staff and continue the trip back to Kathmandu

Day 19 : Fly back to India

Kailash Yatra (Journey) Travel" trekkers require some "Useful Tips" without these preparations our trekkers effected with there climate or may be facing some accommodation problems because there usually arrange the camps to stay there. Depending upon the season, during June, July, August till September, day time will be pleasant and quite warm with about 15-20 degrees Celsius. During afternoon time 1-4 pm can be windy. The morning and evening will be chilly between minus 2 to 0 degree Celsius.
We recommend one down jacket, one warm thick pull-over, one thin pull-over, two warm pants, two light loose cotton pants, one warm windproof cotton jacket, four cotton sleeve T-shirts, two thermal under pants, two thermal vests, one rain coat, one pair each of light tennis shoes & light rubber sandal, six pairs of warm woolen socks, one light cotton or silk scarf, one large cotton or silk scarf, one pair of warm gloves, soft paper tissues, monkey cap & sun hat, two towels, Wind - Rain Jacket, sun hat, sun glass, sun cream, chap stick.
