Trekking Tour Packages Ladakh   Duration : 10 Days aprox ....

LADAKH Trekking. Enjoy trekking in Ladakh, it is a miniature version of Tibet. River, running from faraway glaciers or melting snow, carry water to habitation do you find plant life-hence the moonland laber, since Ladakh is as dry as the Sahara. But most of all there are the delightful Ladakhis, friendly as only Tibetan people can be and immensely colorful.

General Advice: Without a hat and or sunscreen you'll have sunburn and a peeling nose in hours. A spell in Manali is a good halfway acclimatization, but people who fly straight from Delhi to Ladakh may feel very uncomfortable for few days.

For Delhi to Manali and Srinagar to Leh: Sonamarg is the last major town of Kashmir, shortly before you climb up over the Zoji La pass (3529 metres) and enter the Ladakh region.

Trek I. Shang La - Matho La- Stok Kangri Duration - 08 Days
Shang La-Matho La-Stok Kangri - In the cold desert of Ladakh each village stands out like an oasis.  The availability of water determines the village's size The cropping season is restricted to one-third of the year because of the lengthy winter.  Over the ages, barley has become the fulcrum around which Ladakhi life revolves.  Its flour forms the staple diet and it is fermented to make chaang.  Day to Day Itinerary

Trek II. Padum to Martselang  Duration - 09 Days
The Landscapes of Ladakh has been compared to the bleak surface of the moon.  Images of the barren lunar vistas are similar to those obtained of this trans-Himalayan region.  But its ecosystem is remarkably Vital.  The trail takes you through a stretc remote even by lofty Ladakhi standards. Because of his isolation, it is an excellent place for viewing wildlife.  With not less than sixty river crossing, the trek also provides moments of great adventure.  Day to Day Itinerary

Trek III. Padum - Lamayuru  Duration - 11 Days
North of the Great Himalayan range, amongst a tangled knot of jagged mountains, lies a rugged and fascinating land, the once independent kingdom of Zanskar.

Sandwiched between the Indus Valley and the main crest of the Indian Himalaya, this remote and inaccessible setting, well guarded by snowy mountain passes, has kept alive an archaic form of Tibetan Buddhism which flourishes in chain of far-flung monasteries, most of which occupy spectacular fortified locations, high on rocky ridges in isolated valleys.  L
ovely high meadow camp sites and dry desert land, high passes and snow-capped peaks stunning scenery, Buddhist monasteries and picturesque villages with their irrigated fields of barley and potatoes, and fascinating encounters with the Zanskari people turn a trek in this area into an unforgettable experience.  Day to Day Itinerary

Trek IV. Darcha - Padum  Duration - 10 Days
Darcha Padum Trek Zanskar is known as the Lost World, The forgotten Valley, The land where Fairies Congregate.  A moral order built around a refined religious faith and a sound economy based on sustainable land-use patterns have created a fulfilling and comfortable lifestyle despite the harsh surroundings.  The trail that goes up from Darcha in Lahaul to descend into the Zanskar valley is one route that typifies this.  Day to Day Itinerary

Trek VI. Markha Valley Trek  Duration - 21 Days
The most popular in Ladakh, this trek traver mountain passes to isolated villages and monastic settlements in the fantastically lit lunar landscape of the Markha Valley. From here we ascend to the Kongmaru La (5,150 meters, the highest point on the trek) with its impressive views of the Karakorums and K2. The trail ends at Hemis where we spend the night and visit the monastery. We meet our vehicles in the morning for the ride back to Leh.  Day to Day Itinerary

Trek VII. Kargil to Padum  Duration - 10 Days
When all bridges are open the route is accessible from early June to late October. On the last day's walk from Phe to Padum you cross the river and pass by the Sani Gompa, one of the most important in Zanskar.  Day to Day Itinerary

Trek VIII. Phuctal Gompa Manali to Padum  Duration - 10 Days
You cannot use horses on this route but must take porters. On day 4 your Zanskari porters will not continue further and you must hire local porters or a pony. The last few days are hard work with many ascents and descents but the road from Kishtwar, already extending to Galar, is gradually being lengthened.  Day to Day Itinerary

Trek IX. Padum to Kishtwar  Duration - 07 Days

Trek X. Monasteries Tour Ladakh  Duration - 14 Days
In Ladakh, these have always been the centre of religious, social, economic and even political functions.  They are a living institution, especially because of their ecological position in a country where the barren mountainous character of the landscape forces the economy to function on a collective basis.  Most of the gompas lie on majr ancient trading routes extending from Tibet to Ladakh, among them Hemis, Thiksey, Alchi, Lamayuru, Ringdom, Karsha, etc.  Almost all the gompas follow a code of architecture.
