I t i n e r a r y
:
All
the treks of Kullu (Himachal Pradesh India) is connected by 'our
coach' with Delhi, Chandigarh, Jammu and Srinagar.
DAY-1- Kasol (1585m)-Garahan (2286m) 10km
Reach Kasol by bus from Kullu town via Bhuntar. A trail goes S up the W side of
Garahan Nala, mounting gradually through pine forest to Garahan hamlet.
DAY-2- Garahan-Padri (2820m) 7km -
Another amenable walk up the Garahan Nala to Padri camp ground on a meadow.
DAY-3- Padri-Khauli Pass (3750m) -
Manihar (2740m) 14km - A steep strenuous climb leads to the pass; in May the
approach will be over soft snow. The descent, following W bank of the Hurla
Nala, is also steep. Manihar is small village and the camp ground is close by
at Duri.
DAY-4- Manihar-Jhuni (c. 2000m) 17km - A
moderate angle all the way down the Hurla Nala, going through Shilagarh where a
dam is being constructed in the valley. Jhuni is a pleasant camp ground.
DAY-5- Jhuni-Garsa-Kullu - From Jhuni you
can get a bus to Kullu via Garsa and Bhuntar.
 Alternatively, a trail from Garsa
winds generally NW round a ridge to reach Bhuntar.
