About This Trek:
A direct route from Pabar Valley into the Sangla Valley of Himachal Pradesh which involves crossing of a 4578m high Buran Ghati.  A medium difficult trek which can be undertaken between May-June and September-October.  Dhanwari, near Rohru in Shimla region, is the convenient road head and can be approached from Shimla via Theo and Jubbal and Rohru is an added attraction, and has a tourist rest house.

:  I t i n e r a r y :

All the treks of Shimla (Himachal Pradesh India) is connected by 'our coach' with Delhi, Chandigarh, Jammu and Srinagar.

DAY-1- Dhanwari-Janglikh (2800m) - From Dhanwari, located on the right bank of the Pabar river, the trail follows the river upstream through oak forests, past Ambot and Diwedi villages, crosses a stream, then climbs steeply to Janglikh which has about 30 houses and a small temple.

DAY-2- Janglikh-Lithum Thach (3200m) - A level walk initially through the fields, then through dense pine forest.  Ascend gradually to Golku Thach then strenuously to Sambir Thach.  Onwards the trail descends and ascends several times, fords a few streams, passes through several grazing grounds before arriving at Lithum Thach camping ground.

DAY-3-Lithum Thach-Dunda Thach (3400m) - Continue NE along the Pabar river which originates from the slopes of Buran Ghati.  Pass through Khubrini Thach and leaving the tree line behind climb steeply through boulders to enter Dunda Thach, located at the foot of Buran Ghati.

DAY-4-Dunda Thach-Buran Ghati-Maldi Thach (3500m) - At first the path rises gently, then steeply to reach the junction of two trails, one turning E towards Gunas Ghati (4785m), the other towards N to Buran Ghati.  Now work your way N upwards for about 4h through boulders and snow to reach the Buran Ghati (Valley).

DAY-5- Maldi Thach-Karacham (1899m) - Continue descending along the Barua Gad, entering the wooded area after 2h, then descend to Barua village in another 1h.  Karacham is a short walk of 2h through Sapni.  Karahcam is located at the junction of the Basa and Satluj rivers, and is connected by bus with Shimla and Kalpa.
