Culture Tour Package Ladakh - Duration - 11 Days

The faces and physique of the Ladakhis, and the clothes they wear, are more akin to those of Tibet and Central Asia than of India. The original population may have been Dards, an Indo-Aryan race from down the Indus. But immigration from Tibet, perhaps a millennium or so ago, largely overwhelmed the culture of the Dards and obliterated their racial characteristics. In eastern and central Ladakh, today's population seems to be mostly of Tibetan origin. Further west, in and around Kargil, there is much in the people's appearance that suggests a mixed origin.

Day 01. Arrive Delhi:
Assistance on arrival at IGI Airport and transfer to hotel.

Day 02. Delhi :
Full day sight seeing of Delhi City.

Day 03. Delhi-Leh :
Early morning transfer to Airport for Leh flight at about 0600 hrs. and arrive by 0715 hrs.. Arrival assistance and transfer to hotel. Rest of the day at leisure To acclimatize high altitude. Overnight at hotel.

Day 04. Leh:
Full day excursion to the famous monasteries. It is interesting to visit early morning to enjoy morning praying ceremony at Thiktsey monastery. Continue drive to Hemis monastery which is one of the most popular monastery in Ladakh region. On way back, visit Shey monatery and O/N at hotel.

Day 05. Leh :
Morning half day tour of Spituk and visit Phyang monastery. Afternoon visit by to to Kings Palace, Leh Gompa, Shankar Gompa and then LEH market. O/N at hotel.

Day 06. Leh-Khardong Pass-Leh :
Days excursion to Khardong La Pass which is highest Motorable Pass in the world at 5600 MTs. And has been recorded in the Guniees book Of World Record. One can witness beauty of snow capped montains from the top. O/N at hotel.

Day 07. Leh-Lamayuru:
Morning depart for lamayuru via Khalsti. Visit Alchi monastery which is famous one of oldest monastery founded in 10th. century and then visit Village. Afternoon depart for Alchi O/night at hotel.

Day 08. Alchi-Leh:
Depart for Alchi. Visit Alchi monastery which is famous for Wall Paintings of 11th. century and Alchi Village. Afternoon leave for Leh and O/N at hotel.

Day 09. Leh :
Morning visit to Stok Palace built by King T.T. Namgyal in1825.On way back visit Choglamsar Tibetan Settlement where one can witness Tibetan Handicrafts. Evening Ladakhi culture show and O/N at hotel.

Day 10. Leh-Delhi :
After breakfast transfer to Airport to board Delhi flight. Arrival assistance and transfer to Hotel.

Day 11. Delhi Departure :
Morning half day sight seeing and afternoon for shopping till transfer to International Airport for return flight.
